Problems in Hydropower Business in Nepal

Problems in Hydropower Business in Nepal (Draft-detail will be published later) It have been believed that Nepal have tremendous potential in Hydropower Business. Many studies found that above 42,000 mw capacities are technically and financially viable. Hydropower can be one of the country's largest sources to foreign currency, economic development and prosperity. Trillions of Nepalese rupees can be earned if such projects can build and sale electricity to nearby neighbours where demand of electricity is abundance.  Hydropower is Nepal government's priority sector and many reforms have been made to foster this sector as well. However, current progress in this sector, engagement from both public and private sectors and ground level development is like tortoise walking scale. We have 42,000 pls MW capacity but utilising only beloe 3% of total capacity till date. We are importing 400+ mw energy from India and electrification is not yet reached all across Nepal. Constru
